A robust quarry special as an economical alternative to large dumpers
Introducing Quarry special 25 m³ — a tipping body designed for the most difficult deployment in quarries and in extreme terrain. The vehicle was created in cooperation with companies Kámen Zbraslav and Volvo Trucks ČR and combines the performance of the Volvo FMX 8×4 off-road chassis with the durable VS-MONT body.
The goal of the project was to create a full-fledged, yet economically advantageous alternative to large articulated and rigid dumpers. The result is a road-homologated truck that can handle work in the quarry, and at the same time can move itself between locations and to service on normal roads.

HARDOX 500 TUF sandwich body
The heart of the body is a body made of poison-resistant steel HARDOX 500 TUF made in two layers. Thanks to the sandwich system, only the top plate needs to be replaced when worn — not the entire body. This significantly extends the life of the body and reduces maintenance costs when working with abrasive aggregates.
Safety and control in every cycle
The operator is protected by a certified protective shield FOPS level II from falling stones during loading. System stability monitoring it monitors the tilt of the vehicle during tipping and warns of the risk of overturning, which is crucial when working on uneven quarry terrain. Thanks to the driver, the loading is under control camera system directly from the cab.
Why a quarry special instead of a large dump truck
| Lower purchase price | A complete vehicle is cheaper than a classic dump truck |
| Lower service costs | The service will be provided by the normal service network of trucks |
| Moving along roads | Between the quarries and to the service, it can be reached by its own axle, without cargo |
